‘Sunday Walk’ by Sir Alfred East

Throughout his life he regularly painted in and around the villages of Kettering, often with his friend George Harrison. This watercolour painting entitled ‘Sunday Walk’ is a view of the avenue of trees at Warkton that leads to Boughton House. This was a very popular Victorian walk for local residents. The painting probably dates from early in his career.
